Operating stroke is a key indicator of your machine’s health. Keeping the operating stroke within the recommended range is crucial for maintaining vibratory equipment, minimizing maintenance costs, and reducing downtime. VIBRA-SYNC™ makes knowing your stroke easy by monitoring and displaying stroke values, automatically and accurately.
Stroke can also be checked manually by reading the stroke plate that is installed on every piece of ACTION Vibratory Equipment. If the machine has a balancer there will be two stroke plates, one for each moving part. Both should be checked. See your Operation and Maintenance Manual for details and refer to the section below showing how to read a stroke plate.
Reading a Stroke Plate
While the machine is running, look at the stroke plate. Note how the dot next to the number blurs into a streak across the yellow plane. If the black dot blurs past the crosshair, the stroke is higher than the corresponding number. If the dot blurs to the center of crosshair, the stroke is that number. If the dot does not reach the center of the crosshair, stroke is less than the corresponding number.
Stroke plate shown is moving 28mm.
26mm is moving past the crosshair.
30mm is not reaching crosshair.
Knowing the operating condition of vibratory equipment is easy with VIBRA-Sync™. Stroke and RPM are shown on the mobile app and online. Get alerts if stroke and RPM are outside of design parameters. Please contact ACTION Vibratory Equipment for more information.
