VIBRA-SYNC™ FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does stroke matter?

Too much movement (over-stroke) puts extra stress on parts. Keeping the stroke in design-appropriate range will reduce downtime and maintenance requirements.

Why does RPM matter?

RPM can affect stroke, machine stress and screening performance. RPM is typically stable over time but can change with part wear or if drive parts are changed. Keeping RPM within design parameters is important to machine longevity. Synchronous (toothed belt) drives are a great way to have stable RPM over time.

How will I know if there is problem with a machine?

The machine’s VIBRA-Sync™ dashboard shows operation with color coded, easy-to-evaluate gauges and a graph. If a serious condition is present, visual and email alerts indicate action is needed. More running information is available, if desired.

How often does VIBRA-SYNC™ report to the web app?

If the machine is powered the Sensor sends a report every 15 minutes.

Can I see RPM and stroke without internet access?

Yes, using the VIBRA-Sync™ App on a smartphone or tablet you can check local Sensor data.

How does the VIBRA-Sync™ get the stroke and RPM?

The VIBRA-Sync™ Sensor calculates the movement and frequency of vibratory equipment using its internal accelerometer readings.

Can I install the VIBRA-Sync™ on existing equipment?

Yes, The VIBRA-Sync™ is designed to be easy to install, even if not equipped from the factory.

Can I use VIBRA-Sync™ on all types of vibratory equipment?

Yes, VIBRA-Sync™ can read from 250-1200 RPM, 0.5 mm to over 55 mm of stroke making it applicable to most vibratory equipment.

What do I need to start?

To use VIBRA-Sync™ you will need hardware and a web app subscription. See setup page for more information.

Is the hardware hard to install?

No, the Hub, Node and Sensor typically install in a couple hours.

How does the VIBRA-Sync™ get stroke and RPM to the cloud?

Typically, the VIBRA-Sync™ Hub connects to customer Wi-Fi. Other options like cellular Wi-Fi hotspot or direct GSM satellite are available if desired.

Do I have to have Wi-Fi coverage over the entire job site?

Only the Hub needs access to Wi-Fi. The VIBRA-Sync™ Nodes connect with each other and the Hub.

How far apart can the Child Nodes be from each other?

It depends on local signals but typically range is over 300’ line of site. The mesh can be extended with extra Nodes if needed.

Can I move a child node and sensor to a different machine?

Yes, the hardware can be moved and the machine name on the website can be updated.

Is the hardware weatherproof?

The VIBRA-Sync™ Node and Sensors are designed for outdoor use with an IP67 enclosure. The Hub should be installed in a covered location.
